Cornwall man becomes first in UK to be police officer, firefighter and paramedic

Andrew Hichens is tri-service officer in popular resort town of Hayle, working alongside on-call firefighters, fully fledged police officers and ambulance crews

He won’t literally be wearing three hats at once – just one hat with three badges representing his roles as a police officer, firefighter and a paramedic.

Andrew Hichens is the first person in the UK to work simultaneously in the three blue-light service roles.
