Queensland teens' deaths: commission to look at mental health centre closure

Three teenagers died after the closing early last year of the Barrettt adolescent psychiatric centre that cared for young people at serious risk of suicide

The Queensland government is to investigate whether the deaths of three young people were linked to the closure of a mental health centre.

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk says a commission of inquiry headed by retired justice Margaret Wilson will look at the former Liberal National party government’s decision to close the Barrett adolescent psychiatric centre at Wacol.
