Health Department Announces Jayden and Sophia are 2013’s Most Popular Baby Names

The Health Department announced that Jayden and Sophia were the most popular baby names in New York City in 2013. Jayden has been the number 1 boys name for the last five years, while Sophia remained the number 1 girls name for the second year in a row. The Health Department’s birth certificate records showed that more than 740 Jaydens and more than 630 Sophias were born in the Big Apple in 2013. Overall, in 2013, 2,774 fewer babies were born in New York City as compared to 2012.
