Lib Dem care minister: we must bring mental health 'out of the shadows'

Norman Lamb tells activists at spring conference that his experience of son’s drink and drug problems has made him more determined to highlight issue

The Liberal Democrat care minister, Norman Lamb, has opened up about his son’s mental health problems, saying his family’s experiences had made him more determined to “bring mental health out of the shadows”.

Lamb made the comments to party activists gathered in Liverpool for the Lib Dem spring conference on Sunday, after he gave an interview to the Sunday Mirror about his son’s battle with drink and drugs.
